New Faculty Survival Kit

New Faculty

After an offer letter is signed and returned, please contact your hiring department and inquire if they have (or when they will) start your electronic Personnel Action Form (ePAF).  ePAFs are initiated at the department level.  The hiring department’s administrative assistant will need to contact Academic Affairs for the signed offer letter.  Both the signed offer letter and personnel requisition (a form the hiring department needed to fill out to seek approval authorizing the search to occur) need to be attached to the ePAF by the form initiator.  Please note that an employee identification number (a 900#) is not issued until the ePAF is completely processed.

Once the hiring department has the employee’s 900#, they can contact ITC for an email address.  Hiring departments will need to supply ITC with the employee’s name and 900#, along with the department’s index/fund.
