Fraction Equality |
In this activity, students will be able to practice their skills with fractions. They’ll be able to connect shapes and portions to find equivalent fractions as well as determining equations, improper fractions, and inequalities. |
Teaching Fractions with Legos |
In this hands-on activity, students will be able to connect fractions and portions to lego bricks. Students can vary the amount of lego bricks and colors to build a tower to determine the fractional amount of certain bricks present. |
Learning Math with Legos |
Word problems are one of the most challenging topics for students. In this hands-on activity students will utilize legos to help them better understand the workings of work problems that they will be able to connect with. |

Area Builder Simulator |
In this activity students will utilize unit squares to connect area and perimeter. Students will further build different configurations of unit squares and determine how to find the area of irregular shapes as well as scale these shapes to different sizes. |
Oreo Math |
List of math activities that can be utilized with a focus on activity 9, oreo math. In this activity groups of students will build towers out of oreo until they fall. They will then gather data from each group to find the mean, median, and mode of how many oreos it took until the tower fell. |
Math Snacks |
Math Snacks is a website designed by New Mexico State University using animated videos and games to teach about a range of math subjects in an entertaining, and easy to understand manner. |

Judgement with Jellybeans |
Linear approximations from data collection and mathematical models is an important part of engineering utilized to predict situation outcomes. In this activity, students will apply these skills to determine the amount of jelly beans that will fit in a container. |
Fourier Making Waves |
In this simulation activity, students will observe the nature of how light bends between two media and how its wavelength alters when utilizing different types of media. Students will then apply Snell's law to understand the relationship between the light and media. |
Sine Triangle Race |
This activity helps cement the law of sines by challenging students to find missing angles and side lengths from a number of different triangles. Students are allowed 20 minutes to solve as many triangles as possible with the student that is able to solve the most amount crowned as the winner. |
