What Prospective Graduate Students Need to Know
All applicants must hold a minimum of four-year bachelor's degree for admission into any graduate degree program, with the exception of five-year degree programs, which allow admission concurrently with completion of the BS. For admission consideration, prospective students need to complete the following applications and provide all the supporting documentation. Students must pay the graduate application fee. We offer admission in the fall as well as spring.
The GRE general test is required. Cut off score can vary based on the applicant pool. NMT Institution code with ETS is 4533. Following GRE scores may be used as a guideline to see if the applicant meets the admission standard. This is not a hard bottom-line.

International students whose first language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency via TOEFL or IELTS. A TOEFL score 80 or above is required to consider for a graduate teaching assistantship. A minimum TOEFL score of 76 is required for the consideration of admission without a teaching assistantship. Letter of Recommendation
Three letters of recommendation from those who are familiar with applicant’s research capabilities, academic preparation, and work ethic.
Statement of Purpose
Applicant should submit an essay that addresses their research interests, current research experiences, why interested in pursuing a masters or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, at NMT, and their future career goals. This essay should be more than 1000 words but no more than 2000 words.
