guide of New Mexico Tech's admission process from start to finish. No matter where
you are in the process, you can find out the next steps of your journey here. We hope
that this will serve as a useful tool along your road to becoming a Techie!
Apply to New Mexico Tech
Complete the Application for Undergraduate Admission and Scholarships
If you are still trying to figure out what degree that you are interested in pursuing
we invite you to take a look at our Academic Programs or Undergraduate Program Brochure for more information on the various degrees that New Mexico Tech has to offer.
If you are currently still in high school and are completing dual credit courses,
you will be considered a First-Time Freshman on your application. If you have attended
another university or community college since graduating high school you will be considered
a Transfer Student on your application.
Students who are from outside of the United States and do not have a permanent residence
card will need to fill out an International Student Application.
In order to monitor your application, make sure to set up your status page by following
the instructions contained in your application confirmation email. Your status page
will include a checklist of the materials that need to be submitted to the Office
of Admission in order to complete your application. Once all documents have been received
and a decision has been made on your application you will be notified via your status
page. This page will also serve as a way for you to accept your admission, pay your
admission fee, and receive instructions for setting up your student email account.
Request official college transcripts from ALL institutions that you have attended
(see mailing address above)
Transcripts from outside of the United States will require a Comprehensive Course-by-Course
Report from World Education Services. More information can be found here.
Must place into Math 1240 (Pre-Calculus) or higher
*Students who do not meet the admission requirements, but feel that they can succeed
at New Mexico Tech may appeal their admission decision. Find out more about the appeal process.
Scholarship Deadline Information
First-time freshmen must meet the admission requirements no later than March 1st to be considered for First Time Freshmen and Tuition Reduction Scholarships.
Transfer students must meet the admission requirements no later than April 1st to be considered for Transfer Merit and Tuition Reduction Scholarships.
You can accept your offer of admission and pay the $100 non-refundable deposit through
your status page (for help accessing your status page please contact the Office of Admission). Accepting your admission is non-binding.
Complete Your FAFSA
When you complete your FAFSA make sure to add New Mexico Tech's school code, 002654.

individual residence halls, meal plans, and more on the Residential Life web page.
Accept Your New Mexico Tech Scholarship Offer
If you receive a Merit or Tuition Reduction Scholarship offer from New Mexico Tech,
make sure to accept it within 30 days (accepting your scholarship is non-binding).
Continue to fill out applications for additional scholarships (Endowed, Outside Organizations, etc.) if desired.
Once You Have Accepted Your Admission
Activate Your New Mexico Tech Student Email
Activate your New Mexico Tech student email address by following the instructions
on your status page. Activating your student email address and checking it regularly
is extremely important. You will begin to receive important updates, and more importantly,
your adviser will be reaching out to you through this email address to begin setting
up your class schedule.
It is mandatory for first-time freshmen and transfer students to attend one of the
orientation dates offered.
Speak with an Adviser
You will be contacted by your assigned faculty adviser through your New Mexico Tech
student email address. They will help you set up your class schedule for your first
semester.
Register for Classes
You may register for classes online viaBanweb(APIN required from your faculty adviser) or in person at orientation.
